After the cabinet meeting, science and technology minister Kapil Sibal told reporters that the air services agreement by India with Brazil and Chile would not only help maintain air ties but also strengthen economic cooperation.

With the signing and approval of the agreement, India, Brazil and Chile will have the right to designate airlines according to available capacity.

In August last year, India had entered into bilateral civil aviation consultations with Brazil and Chile.
