Japanese tourist found dead in Delhi hotel

New Delhi : A 45-year-old Japanese tourist was Friday found dead in mysterious circumstances at a Paharganj hotel in the old city. The police have informed the Japanese embassy about the man’s death.

Isobo Hiditsu was found dead in his room of Next Inn Lounge, where he had checked in Thursday. He was lying dead in his bed when one of the hotel employees went to his room Friday morning.

The hotel administration informed the police, which seized some sleeping pills near his body. Isobo Hiditsu’s body was sent for post-mortem examination.

“We suspect that Isobo Hiditsu may have died due to overdose of sleeping pills. The reason of death will only be ascertained after the autopsy,” said a police official.

According to the police, Isobo Hiditsu came to Delhi April 4 and on the same day he left for Varanasi.

He returned Wednesday and checked in at hotel Yes Please and the next day he moved to the hotel Next Inn.
