Ahmedabad : The National Multi-Commodity Exchange (NMCE) has announced its new CEO and chief operating officer (COO) Friday.
Anil Mishra, winner of Bharat Udyog Ratna Award 2003 and Best Coffee Exporter Award 2006, will become NMCE’s new CEO and S.S. Vyas, former chief general manager of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), will take charge as the COO.
The two would bring their experience to the country’s first “online, demutualised, multi-commodity” exchange. The NMCE had recently signed an agreement with the BSE whereby the latter is expected to pick up 26 percent stake in the NMCE through fresh equity participation.
Mishra, the former country manager at Ecom Gill Coffee Trading Pvt Ltd, a Swiss multinational company operating in 145 countries, has over 27 years’ experience of dealing with the world commodity markets.
Vyas, as the general manager with the BSE, looked after legal, secretarial, inspection and the newly created Audit Department. He was promoted as chief general manager and re-designated as chief financial officer (CFO) in June 2004.
