New Delhi : Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi beat Satoshi Iwabuchi and Takao Suzuki of Japan in doubles to give India an unbeatable 3-0 lead in the Asia-Oceania Group I tie here Saturday.
Leander and Bhupathi, playing together for the first time after the Doha Asian Games in 2006, scored a 7-6 (2), 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 win.
With this win India qualified for the World Group play-off, which will give them a chance to enter the elite club after a gap of 10 years.
India had won both their singles matches Friday.
The inconsequential reverse singles matches will be played Sunday.
