The All India Central Paramilitary Forces Ex-servicemen Welfare Association is demanding that all facilities provided to the defence forces be extended to paramilitary personnel also.

Addressing a press conference here, association president N. Ramachandran said: “The association will organise a blockade of the CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) camp at Pallipuram in Thiruvananthapuram and the National Highway 47 April 17.”

He said if the government did not favourably consider their demands, the association members would return all the medals and honours to the president of India.

Though the government has recognised the paramilitary forces as armed forces, the paramilitary wings are overlooked with regard to service conditions and other facilities, he said.

The Sixth Pay Commission has also ignored the paramilitary, he added.
