Baghdad : Two American soldiers were killed in two roadside bomb attacks across Iraq on Monday, the U.S. military said on Tuesday.
A soldier was killed by a roadside explosion in the Salahudin province north of Baghdad, said a brief military statement. Another statement said second soldier died of wounds sustained when a roadside bomb hit his vehicle at about 04:45 p.m. (1345 GMT)during a combat patrol in northeastern Baghdad.
The names of the deceased soldiers are being withheld pending notification of the next of kin, said both the statements. The latest deaths bring the number of U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq to more than 4,030 since the Iraq war broke out in 2003,according to media count based on Pentagon figures.
