Tehran : Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Saturday the price of the oil barrel, which reached record 115 dollars per barrel (DPB), is too low, saying the black gold has to “discover its real value.”
“The 115 dollars per barrel price is unrealistic. Oil as a strategic commodity should reach its real price,” Ahmadinejad was quoted by state-run news agency (IRNA) as saying.
Criticizing oil importing countries, Ahmadinejad said some of the big countries were “behaving as if the oil was their property and that everybody should sell oil cheap while they gain more profits than owners of oil themselves.” Natural resources, like oil, should be used to achieving peace and prosperity worldwide, he said.
