Gaza : Israel is providing the Gaza Strip with a million litres of industrial diesel to operate the electric power plant, head of the Palestinian Petrol Agency in Gaza Mujahid Salama said in a statement.
“Tanker trucks carrying diesel have already begun entry to Gaza Strip through Nahel Oz Crossing, since early morning,” Salama told Voice of Palestine radio Wednesday.
Israeli and Palestinian sources had confirmed that the Gaza Strip will be supplied with a million litres of industrial diesel necessary to fuel the electric power plant.
An Israeli Army spokesman told an Israeli radio the Nahel Oz Crossing will be reopened, after a two-week closure following an attack which killed two Israelis and injured three Palestinian activists, the radio said.
The quantity intended for entry to the Strip is enough for three days only, the Israeli spokesman added.
The Palestinian authority announced on Tuesday that the sole power plant in the Gaza Strip would stop operation Wednesday night due to lack of fuel, noting that industrial stocks of fuel were enough only to operate the power plant till Wednesday evening.
