New Delhi : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Thursday sanctioned ex-gratia payment of Rs.100,000 to the parents of each of the 41 children killed in a road accident in Gujarat last week.
An official statement here said Singh had sanctioned the grant from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund, and expressed grief “on the loss of lives of young children in the terrible bus accident”.
Forty-one school children were drowned April 18 when a speeding schoolbus fell into a canal near Bodeli in Vadodara district of Gujarat.
