Manila : Philippine and Indonesian police have vowed closer cooperation to fight transnational crime and terrorism, a senior Filipino police official said Saturday.
Deputy Director General Emmanuel Carta said police officials from the two countries agreed to exchange more information and conduct joint training programmes to boost the fight against international crime and terrorism.
Carta said the agreement for closer cooperation was reached during a joint committee meeting in Bali, Indonesia held earlier in the week.
Carta, who headed the 18-member Philippine delegation at the conference, said they developed guidelines for the undertaking of future joint meetings and training exercises, according to a report of DPA.
