Kabul, Afghanistan : President Hamid Karzai says authorities have arrested several suspects in the Kabul ceremony attack.
Looking calm, Karzai appeared on national TV less than two hours after Sunday’s attack and said everything is OK.
Karzai said the enemy of Afghanistan tried to disrupt the ceremony but were thwarted by security forces. He said several suspects were arrested.
At least two lawmakers were wounded in the Sunday attack. Taliban claimed responsibility, the Associated Press reported. Karzai seems to be speaking from inside the presidential palace. Karzai smiles as he signed off his brief recorded statement.
