Tegucigalpa (Honduras) : Nine inmates were slain in a shootout between gangs inside a prison in northern Honduras, authorities said Sunday.
Four prisoners were wounded in the battle inside the penitentiary Saturday in San Pedro Sula, 250 km north of Tegucigalpa, between members of a youth gang, one of Central America’s so-called maras, and other inmates.
