Ahmedabad : Amreli town in Saurashtra region has been chosen to host the state government’s official celebrations of Gujarat’s foundation day Thursday.
Chief Minister Narendra Modi will arrive April 30 in Amreli town, about 300 km from here, for the May 1 function. Governor Nawal Kishore Sharma will also be present.
Modi’s cabinet colleagues are already in the town participating in weeklong celebrations ahead of the main function.
Amreli is the birthplace of Gujarat’s first chief minister Jivraj Mehta.
