Greater Noida : Exactly a year after her marriage, a young woman was allegedly strangled to death by her husband and his relatives here Monday for not bringing another car and more money as dowry.
The incident occurred early Monday in Muffaad locality of Greater Noida.
According to police, Pinki (24) was allegedly strangled by her husband Pawan and his four family members. Her body was found in the bedroom. Her father Manoj, a resident of Faridabad in Haryana, filed a complaint with the police alleging that Pinki was constantly troubled for dowry after her marriage to Pawan in April 2007. Manoj started demanding a car and more cash though they had presented an Alto car during the wedding.
In his complaint, Manoj stated that after strangulating her, Pinki’s in-laws spread the rumour that she had committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan.
