According to E.S.C., an autonomous body under the Indian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Indian I.T. exports are growing at more than 30 percent annually and are expected to cross US$50 billion this year and touch US$100 billion by 2012.

“IT exports from India to the Middle East, particularly to the U.A.E., have increased substantially in recent years. We see huge potential for further growth as E.S.C. is devising new strategies to expand its market-share in the region,” E.S.C. regional director for the Middle East and United Arab Emirates (UAE)Kamal Vachani said.

He said the region is growing fast as an important export market for Indian I.T. industry predominantly because of the booming UAE market and its business-friendly atmosphere.

E.S.C. plans to organise more sharply-focused export shows that will give more exposure to Indian I.T. products and services.
