By Xinhua,
Kabul : Security forces early Wednesday raided a hideout of militants in the Afghan capital and killed five people, witnesses and officials said.
An intelligence official, who declined to be named, told Xinhua that the operation was completed and five militants were killed. The forces arrested one militant, he added.
A resident of the area who witnessed the attack said the militants moved to the house about a week ago and that seven or eight men and one woman were living there.
The overnight operation came as Kabul tightened security following a failed attempt on Afghan President Hamid Karzai during April 27 military parade.
