The 13 suspects detained for further interrogation were teenagers from three deep south provinces, local news network The Nation said.

The army’s spokesman Akra Thiprote was quoted as saying that four bomb attacks on Saturday night rocked Songkhla’s Muang district, slightly injuring three. While in Hat Yai district, three bomb attacks took place, but no one was injured. Initial investigation showed that they were small bombs.

The spokesman asked local people to stay update with the information from the authorities and asked them to report to the authorities if they had information.

Thailand’s three southernmost provinces — Yala, Narathiwat and Pattani have been troubled with insurgency-related violence which has claimed more than 3,500 lives since it resumed in early 2004.
