Motihari (Bihar): Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, strongly condemned terrorism as well as efforts to associate terrorism with a particular religion. He was addressing ‘Muslim Falahi Bedari Conference’ (Muslim welfare awareness conference) on 31st July.
He opposed to associate terrorism with a particular religion saying that this act was very disappointing and should be condemned in strong words, says a report in the Urdu daily Rashtriya Sahara. Uttering BJP’s version he indicated towards implementation of POTA and said that making a road map to curb terrorism is the most important need of the time and this can be possible only by adopting very strict law against it.
He stressed on brotherhood and affection among the people of the community to combat with terrorism.
Expressing his views on madrasas the Chief Minister said that madrasas are strong forts of Islam and these madrasas are above all kinds of allegations.
On the occasion, Nitish awarded Faisal Rahman, son of former MP (Rajya Sabha), Late Md Motiur Rahman, with arrow, the symbol of his party JD (U), and appealed to the people to accept Faisal Rahman as their leader and requested them to give him all possible assistance. He suggested Faisal Rahman to become a public servant and prayed for his prosperous future.
Introducing his new face in politics Faisal Rahman said that he would work day and night with full devotion to serve the people and the community and to make his father dreams come true. He said that he has entered in politics for progress and development of Champaran district and this will not be possible without the help of the people here. The whole gathering assured their support to him waiving their hands and applauding him in loud voice.
The conference, organized by Aquiliyati Taraquiyati Morcha (Minority Development Morcha), was attended by more than 50 thousand people. Professor Nasim Ahmad presided over the function. The Muslim leaders who attended the programme included Naushad Ahmad, chairman Bihar State Minority Commission, as a chief guest, Salahuddin Siddiqui, chairman Bihar Madrasa Ecucation Board, and Azizul Haque, vice president, 20-point programme.
