Ahmadinejad assessed their ties as good and progressive thanks to convenient decisions adopted to strengthen bilateral and regional ties and improve action coordination.

Iranian cabinet sources said the talks included their nuclear program without mentioning last month’s request by French President Nicolas Sarkozy to Al-Assad to prove the program’s end.

But Al-Assad reminded every country’s right to enrich uranium and build nuclear plants.

Ahmadinejad said Iran “will never give up its inalienable rights nor step back an inch” about uranium enrichment in the national nuke program.

So he shunned the 15-day deadline set by the UN Security Council plus Germany to trade uranium enrichment for several incentives, adding that any talks on the matter should relay on those rights.

Ahmadinejad and Al-Assad also addressed regional issues like the situation in Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq and Israel, which Iran calls “Zionist regime”.

The statesman added that the US and Israel are in “the worst situation with the public opinion against them”, adding that the US policy repeated failures will soon force it to exit Iraq”.

Al-Assad finally warned that “the Zionist regime and Israel still plot against the region,” adding that Israel is not that powerful and resisting may help the nations gain their rights.
