Chandigarh : The threat of a bomb blast at the district court here Wednesday, which led to the evacuation of employees, was a found to be a hoax, police said.
“Someone called the police control room at 10.25 a.m. and said a bomb had been planted in the district court in Sector 17. Police immediately reached the spot with the bomb squad but it turned out to be a hoax. We searched the whole area and the court compound for over two hours but did not find anything,” Kulwant Singh, station head officer of Sector 17 police station, told IANS.
“The call was made from some mobile phone and we will soon catch the culprit. Now we have increased our vigil at the main gates and in the surrounding areas,” said Singh.
