Hong Kong : A strong earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter scale struck Andaman Islands in the Indian Ocean at 0845 GMT Sunday, the Hong Kong Observatory said in a bulletin released here.
The epicentre was initially determined by the observatory at about 130 km southwest of Port Blair, capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
There was no immediate report of casualty or damage to property.
