Joint Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria told mediapersons Tuesday evening that they were in touch with various agencies in New Delhi and through unofficial channels were trying to ascertain the detentions by the Saudi Arabian authorities.

Anees, with an award of Rs.1 million on him, is one of the prime accused in the March 12, 1993, Mumbai serial bomb explosions.

His elder brother Iqbal Ibrahim Kaskar was deported from Dubai a couple of years ago to face trial in some of the cases in which he was an accused.

The 1993 serial blasts in this financial capital of India killed 257 people, injured hundreds and destroyed properties worth Rs.300 million.
