Kozhikode : Five persons accused in burglary and murder cases escaped from a police station lock-up in Kerala Wednesday, the police said.
The accused – Manikantan, Shivaji Ganeshan and Jagadish, from Tamil Nadu, and Mohanan and Rameshan from Kerala – escaped Wednesday morning from the Medical College police station in Kozhikode, giving a slip to a woman police official who was on guard duty.
The five were taken in remand earlier this week from a local court for interrogation, officials at the police commissioner’s office said here.
The police have launched a manhunt to apprehend the fugitives.
