Islamabad : A senior Taliban leader was believed to have been killed in a military operation in northwestern Pakistan’s tribal region Thursday, the Geo TV channel reported.
According to the report, Taliban commander Maulvi Faqir may have been killed by security forces in the operation in Damadolla area of Bajaur tribal agency.
Maulvi Faqir is said to be the number two figure in Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), or Pakistan Taliban Movement, operating from the tribal region of the North West Frontier Province bordering Afghanistan.
However, there is no official confirmation about the report.
