Established on the wake of Gujarat genocide of 2002, it was formed on August 15, 2002. In the last six years it has had four conventions, the last one in Chicago this year.

It has successfully worked with various Indian organizations of different persuasions. IMC had a leading role in the formation of Coalition Against Genocide which was instrumental in leading a campaign for revoking US visa for Mr. Narendra Modi.

In a message on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of India’s Independence, IMC called on all Indians to remember the message of Mahatma Gandhi. It reminded that Gandhi’s non-violent struggle was key to India’s independence.

On the occasion of its establishment day, IMC renewed its pledge to prevent hate-filled ideologies from threatening the secular fabric of the nation and to promote pluralism, tolerance and respect for human rights. IMC-USA will be participating in a series of events and Independence day festivities across various cities in the United States.
