SAYSS Committee to hold talks with Governor’s panel today
By News Agency of Kashmir,
Jammu : The four-member committee of Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti (SAYSS), spearheading agitation over Amarnath land transfer row in Jammu region, will hold dialogue with Governor’s panel headed by S S Bloeria at Circuit House tomorrow to find an amicable solution to present crisis.
Addressing media persons here on Friday, senior SAYSS member Brigadier (retd) Suchet Singh informed that Samiti will hold talks with Governor’s panel at Circuit House at 9:00 A.M tomorrow. “The four members of Samiti comprising spokespersons Dr Narinder Singh and Tilak Raj Sharma, Pawan Kohli and myself will meet Governor’s panel headed by S S Bloeria and see what proposals they have for Samiti,” he disclosed.
Speaking on the occasion, SAYSS spokesperson Dr Narinder Singh took serious note of “malicious” and “misleading” campaign launched by the Congress High Command at New Delhi regarding ongoing mass movement in Jammu region and warned the Congress leaders against playing with the sentiments of “nationalistic forces” in the state.
He condemned the statement of Congress spokesperson Jayanti Natrajan, who he alleged, described the present movement as “non-issue” based on “falsehood and lies”. He termed such statements as “immature and irresponsible” and maintained that instead of giving such “vicious statements”, Congress leadership at New Delhi should consult their own local leaders who have already joined the movement.
“Local leaders of the Congress should take serious note of such utterances of their leaders at New Delhi or otherwise resign from the party membership. Such irresponsible utterances on the part of the Central leadership shall have strong reaction from the masses of Jammu,” he alleged.
Condemning the state administration headed by Governor N N Vohra for its failure to protect lives of non-Kashmiri truck operators, he asked the state administration to locate around 100 truck operators who have been reportedly kept hostages by the “fanatic” and secessionist forces of Kashmir Valley in connivance with local administration.
Meanwhile, vice-president of Truckers Welfare Association Jammu Rajesh Gupta alleged that truck operators are repeatedly being harassed in Kashmir Valley and some of them have been kept hostage. “There was no economic blockade to Kashmir Valley but it was a social boycott by truck operators as they were harassed and mercilessly beaten-up by miscreants in Valley,” he alleged and demanded that security should be provided to truck operators failing which no truck operator will ply his vehicle on road.
Convenor SAYSS Leela Karan Sharma flayed the central governments for not taking the ongoing mass movement in Jammu seriously and warned this would have dire consequences vis-à-vis unity and integrity of the country.
