Momentum Logistics, a new third party logistics (3PL) company, will be launched in the fourth quarter of 2008, according to a statement issued by its parent firm Gulftainer Co, an international port management company with transport and logistics expertise.

The new state-of-the-art International Logistics City in the emirate of Sharjah would be Momentum’s flagship project, the statement said.

“Although Momentum has not yet been officially launched we already have big plans for the company,” Momentum general manager Matthew Derrick said in the statement.

“One of the most significant is the construction of the International Logistics City in Sharjah, which will offer top quality services to all clients, and will allow them to manage their entire supply chain from a single location,” he added.

The city will house distribution centres offering temperature controlled solutions, warehouses, a transportation park, a container freight station, a container repair workshop, self storage facilities, offices, personnel accommodation blocks and a food court.
