Senior diplomats, leading industrialists and top public sector executives are expected to attend the presentation to be made by Kerala Industries Minister Elamaram Kareem at Hotel Ashoka in New Delhi.

“This is basically meant to showcase Kerala as an investment destination. We have sent invites to 150 people and the response has been fantastic,” Kareem told reporters here Monday.

The presentation would begin at 10 a.m. and after that a question and answer session would follow, he said.

Kareem was instrumental in formulating a path-breaking new industrial policy last year, which saw the setting up of a three-tier single window clearance mechanism for the industrial projects.

A similar meeting called by the then chief minister Oommen Chandy in 2005 triggered controversy in Kerala because liquor was served to the guests after the meeting.
