Malappuram (Kerala) : Two people were killed and 13 injured in clashes following a dispute over the administration of a mosque in Malappuram district Friday,the police said.
The clashes took place at the Alinchuvadu Juma Masjid at Kottakkal, about 10 km from the district headquarters in north Kerala. The police identified the dead as Pulickal Abdu, 45, and his brother Aboobacker, 42.
“The clashes took place following a dispute over the position of the president in the mosque’s administrative body,” said Malappuram Police Superintendent P. Vijayan.
