Gurgaon bank robbed of Rs.757,000

Gurgaon : Three men Saturday held employees and customers of a bank here hostage at gunpoint and fled with Rs.757,000, police said.

“The robbers first hit security guard Lila Ram in his head leaving him bleeding. They also snatched his gun and entered the bank. One of them yelled at the staffers and customers to bow down and face the wall. Then one of them walked down to the cash counter and smashed the glasses,” bank manager Harpal Singh Yadav said.

Yadav said one of them entered the cashier’s cabin and collected the cash.

The robbers brought down the shutter of the premises and sped away on their bikes, he said.

According to police officials, the youths were in the age group of 25-28.

Last month a bank in Gurgaon’s Sector 56 was looted of Rs.14.8 million at gunpoint.
