People will come out on the streets at 12 noon and hold hands in a continuous chain for 15 minutes. The route is given below.

“This action is to demand that our governments must take responsibility and map out long term and short term strategies to deal with such terror attacks as well as swift, transparent and credible trial and punishment for all those involved in terror, whatever the religion they may profess,” says a release from Movement for Peace & Justice.

The organization has also demanded a better coordination amongst various security and intelligence agencies to deal with terror. “We expect that the Indian and Pakistani government would take joint action to curb religious extremism of all shades in both countries,” said the group.

“On December 12 (from 12 noon to 12.15pm) we will ‘hold hands in unity’ to show that Mumbai is united in its ordeal despite the trauma and fear generated after the attack on its spirit by criminals who are without a shred of humanity or conscience,” said the group.

The organizations under the banner of Mumbai for Peace include Aapli Mumbai, Aawaaz-e-Niswan, Action Aid (Maharashtra), Action for Good Governance and Networking in India (AGNI), Akshara, Alternative Reality, Awami Bharat, Bombay Catholic Sabha, Bombay Urban Industrial League for Development (BUILD) and Centre for Enquiry into Health and Allied Themes (CEHAT).
