Two suicide car bombers attacked two police stations in the Shurtah neighborhood in central the city and in the northern neighborhood of Jolan, a local police source said.

The source could not tell the exact number of victims, but said that dozens were either killed or wounded, including women and children.

Fallujah, some 50 km west of Baghdad, has been relatively calm since more than a year and a half ago after Sunni tribes and anti-U.S. insurgent groups turn up against al-Qaida in Iraq network, cooperating with the U.S. troops and Iraqi security forces.

Rifts emerged between predominantly Sunni insurgent groups and the al-Qaida network after the latter adopted a hardline and exercised indiscriminate killings against both Shiite and Sunni Muslims.
