Agra : A Pakistani prisoner in the Agra Central Jail is on hunger strike demanding his release and repatriation but two of his compatriots have given up the protest, officials said Saturday.
According to jail superintendent Ambrish Gaur, one of the Pakistanis broke his fast last week while another gave in writing Saturday that he was giving up the protest.
But the third Pakistani is continuing with his hunger strike. “They have been in various jails (in India) for 10 to 14 years,” he said.
All three Pakistanis, arrested for over staying in India, began their hunger strike Nov 23. Doctors tried to give them milk and Vitamin tablets but the prisoners refused them, said an official.
