NEW DELHI, Dec 19 (NNN-PTI) — Buoyed by the Assembly election results, Congress President Sonia Gandhi today met party MPs and asked them to gear up for the Lok Sabha (Lower House) elections.
Party sources, however, said that it was a routine meeting of the Congress President with the party MPs which is normally held when Parliament session is on.
A Congress MP, who did not want to be identified, said that Gandhi asked them to prepare for the general elections and also about the issues in their state.
“With elections to be held in April-May, poll preparedness was the only thing dominating the agenda of the meeting of the MPs with the party President,” said a source. – NNN-PTI
