New Delhi : India has sent a stern warning to Pakistan that it was still keeping “all options,” including military strike, open against it, and added that it should not presume the likelihood of military retaliation was fading with time.
India’s External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee said that India reserves the right to protect its interests and people if Pakistan failed to check the spread of terrorism, reported the “Times Now” news network.
“Instead of contradiction and denial, they will have to take action,” Mukherjee added.
He further stated that in the past India’s requests to Pakistan not to provide any support to terrorist groups on its soil had fallen on deaf ears.
“The repeated appeals that we have made to our neighbors, over the years, to ensure that they do not provide any support to terrorist activities and dismantle the terrorist infrastructure, has been ignored, despite assurances given by them,” he said.
“We need three commitments from Pakistan. Firstly, they should keep the promise that their territory will not be used for terrorist activities. Secondly, given the evidences of the Pak link, they need to now pursue those evidences and take strict action against those responsible. Lastly, they need to arrest those involved in such terrorist activities and hand over all those who are required for investigations,” he concluded.
