The amount, collected by Future Group on behalf of NCCL, was given to Yash Vyas, who lost his father and 11-year-old brother in the July 26 blast.

“The money was raised by Kishore Bayani-promoted Future Group at drop boxes kept at their showrooms,” NCCL president V.K. Saxena told IANS Wednesday.

“The fixed deposit receipt was given to the victim at his residence in presence of his mother Geetaben Vyas. Yash will get Rs.132,000 on maturity of 300 days,” he said.

Geetaben said: “Today Yash has to go for his daily dressing and seems to have come out of the shock. For nearly three months he was in the hospital and thanks to Dr. Srikant Lagvankar who did plastic surgery on the back, hand and legs of Yash that he is okay now.”

She said Yash’s daily dressings will continue for about two years and the amount given will help in meeting her son’s medical expenses.

Yash, who received 50 per cent burns, was for a long time in the plastic surgery ward of the Apollo Hospital at Bhat, Gandhinagar.

“I am now okay. And I play daily,” Yash said.

The state government had paid a compensation of Rs.1.8 million to Geetaben.
