“We are shocked over the horrific high number of (Palestinian) casualties. The escalation of violence brings again only suffering to the people,” the deputy head of the SPD, Walter Kolbow and the party’s Mideast rapporteur Rolf Muetzenich were quoted saying.

The SPD legislators stressed there was no military solution to the Palestinian problem.

At least 200 people were killed and hundreds injured, many of them critically, when Israeli F-16 fighter jets bombed indiscriminately dozens of Palestinian targets in Gaza.

The German government is widely regarded as the closest ally of the criminal Zionist regime after the US.

Angela Merkel is generally viewed as the most pro-Israeli German chancellor in the history of post-World War II Germany which interestingly enough came in the wake of a drastic German public opinion shift against Israel, triggered by the illegal Jewish state’s brutal military actions in Lebanon and Gaza in 2006.

The majority of Germans see the US and Israel as the greatest threat to global peace.
