Ahmedabad, India : First promotional campaign of- PLASTINDIA-2009, showcasing India as global sourcing hub for plastics, was kicked off from here on Saturday.
“The 7th International Plastics Exhibition and Conference-PLASTINDIA-2009, is scheduled to begin from February 4 at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi,” organiser said.
“The mega event is expected to attract over 400 overseas exhibitors and around 1000 domestic players, besides pavillions of 20 countries,” chairman National Executive Council PLASTINDIA Mahendra Patel said, while inaugurating the campaign.
Delegates from countries such as UK, China, Taiwan, East Africa, Italy, Singapore and others are expected to exhibit their innovative plastic products during the exhibition, organisers said.
“Indian plastic industry accounts for 18 billion USD out of the 200 billion USD global market, and has large scope for expansion,” Sintex Industries group SP Dangayach said.
“Its a good opportunity for the plastic manufacturers to explore trends worldwide and prepare themselves in advance to encash this in next economic boom,” he added.
“Domestic plastic industry is growing at 15 per cent annually, while the exports have risen by 21 per cent. The industry is estimated to cross 12 million tonne production mark by 2010 end,” industry experts said.
