A spokesman of the army told Israel Radio that one of the missiles, launched from northern Gaza, exploded in an industrial area and caused damage to several workshops, while the other landed in an open area.

Al-Mujahidin Brigades in Palestine and the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) claimed responsibility for the attack in a joint press release.

They said joint forces launched two “Hafs” missiles at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, adding that the Israelis admitted that they fell on Sderot’s industrial area, causing fire in two factories.

They pointed out that the operation shows “victory of good over evil”, adding the attack is preliminary retaliation to the assassination of the PRC leader Aamir Qarmout.

Qarmout was killed in an Israeli air strike on Monday.
