New Delhi : The Indian government Thursday approved the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with South Africa on agriculture cooperation and with Zambia on avoiding double taxation.
The government said the MoU would encourage bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture, trade and investments. Other sectors that would benefit by this agreement include land and water management, fisheries and poultry.
The two governments would also organise events to exchange knowledge. The MoU would lapse in five years, said an official statement issued after the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
The cabinet also approved the signing of an agreement with Zambia to discourage double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion of taxes on income.
The government said the agreement will encourage more investment, besides sharing of technology and services with Zambia.
