Baghdad : Five policemen were wounded in two roadside bomb attacks in Baghdad on Thursday, an Interior Ministry source said.
Three policemen were wounded when a roadside bomb went off near their patrol in Mansour neighborhood in western Baghdad, damaging a police vehicle and wounding three policemen aboard, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
Two more policemen were wounded by a makeshift bomb explosion near their vehicle while patrolling the Baghdad’s southeastern suburb of Salman Pak, the source said.
Meanwhile, the police patrols collected four unidentified bodies in different parts of the capital during the past 24 hours, he said.
Violence and daily gruesome finding of unidentified bodies continue in Baghdad after the U.S. and Iraqi officials announced a steep drop of violence as a result of a major security plan aimed at checking the insurgency and sectarian strife.
