A.K. Sarkar, secretary of the state Animal Husbandry Department, Friday said: “The deputy commissioners of Jamshedpur, Seraikela and Kharsawa districts have reported that there are no high-risk areas in their districts.”

“Till no case of bird flu has been reported from any part of the state,” he added.

According to sources, the department has sent a report to the central government stating that samples taken from across the state that were sent to Bhopal have tested negative for bird flu.

Last month, around 200 chickens were found dead in Angada block of Ranchi district. The test results of the samples taken from there are still awaited.
