Mumbai : Tanla Mobile, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hyderabad-based wireless major Tanla Solutions Limited, has signed an agreement with Outcast TV, a content developer for the wireless audience, to build “Buzz”, their media personalisation platform.
Tanla Mobile specialises in wireless application development, mobile billing and messaging solutions.
Announcing this to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Thursday, Tanla Soultions Ltd said the first application of technology would be BuzzMyGoat.com – a fun service allowing people and brands to communicate through a personalised video. This would be launched at the four-day Mobile World Congress to be held at Barcelona Feb 11-14.
Director of Tanla Mobile Gautam Sabharwal said: “Video messaging services are in their relative infancy, but they have huge potential to shape the way in which we communicate.”
Describing the nature of the agreement, he said: “Outcast TV has given consumers exciting new tools and their quirky and idiosyncratic approach, combined with our technical expertise, makes BuzzMyGoat an easy, fun and totally original way to get your message across.”
Justin Wickham, chief executive officer of the Outcast TV, said: “Anyone can create and send a personalised television comedy sketch, dramatised greeting, announcement or advertisement to a friend, colleague, client or business contact at BuzzMyGoat.com instantly.”
He said the real challenge was to ensure a totally intuitive and user-friendly experience from personalisation and preview right through to handset delivery and “that is why we chose to partner with Tanla Mobile because of their experience in delivering mobile content, and our preference for one partner for both bespoke development and mobile billing.”
Bespoke development relates to balancing tactical expense reduction with strategic growth initiative – which is one of Tanla’s high points. Offshore outsourcing serves as a valuable tool.
