Copenhagen : The Danish daily Jylland Post reprinted this Wednesday cartoons of Prophet Mohammed although the protests of 2006 left 150 fatal victims.
The cartoons picture Mohammed with the face of a villain and a bomb in his turban and appeared after the arrest of two Tunisians and a Dane of Moroccan origin in Aarhus.
Jacob Scharf, head of the Danish intelligence (PET), said the preventive arrests were owed to a plot in its early phase to attack those who ridicule the Prophet.
Although the PET did not ID the target of the murder plot, the on-line version of Jylland Post said it was cartoonist Kart Westergard, 73, now under police protection.
Some 50 European media reproduced the cartoons in 2006 claiming freedom of speech and provoked strong protests since the Muslims consider the images offensive.
The 2006 protests targeted embassies and other Danish installations, namely in Syria, Lebanon, Pakistan, Libya and Nigeria.
