The protest will take place amid tensions after Tuesday”s disturbances, which left at least two checkpoints on the artificial limit between that territory and the rest of Serbia destroyed.

Belgrade authorities called for the population to massively condemn Kosovo”s secession, but without violence.

After the incidents in the northern zone of Kosovska Mitrovika yesterday, the Kosovo Force (KFOR), chiefly formed by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, deployed soldiers in the zone of conflict.

Referring to the events, Serbian Minister for Kosovo Slobodan Samardzic called them lawful, ó unpleasant, but justified.

Meanwhile, Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic urged the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe to reject Kosovo”s declaration of independence.
