Damascus : Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad called on Thursday for achievement of peace and security in the Middle East.
Al-Assad’s call came during his reception of visiting President of the Senate of Chile Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle and the accompanying delegation and Syrian Parliament Speaker Mahmoud Al-Abrash.
A Syrian presidential statement said the meeting covered bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of boosting ties in the economic and parliamentary fields.
The Syrian President stressed importance of having continuous bilateral communications.
Ruiz-Tagle arrived here last night for talks with the Syrian leadership.
