Gaza : An Israeli missile killed at least two Palestinian militants and wounded another on Friday morning in central Gaza, local radio reported.
The gunmen were hit to the east of the Maghazi refugee camp close to the Israeli border. The two militants were identified as members of Saraya al-Quds, the military wing of the radical group Islamic Jihad.
The Israeli military confirmed the airstrike was launched against terrorist targets in the area.
Early on Friday Israeli gunboats fired at Palestinian fishermen in the northern Gaza Strip. No casualties were reported.
Israel says missile strikes and raids against militants in Gaza are carried out in an effort to halt Palestinian rocket attacks on Israel’s southern cities and towns.
More than 230,000 Israelis live within range of Palestinian rocket fire and since radical-group Hamas seized power of the Gaza Strip in June last year, more than 4,200 rockets and mortar rounds have been fired at southern Israel.
