Zardari mandated to discuss coalition government

Islamabad : The newly elected PPPP members for Punjab Assembly Saturday reposed full confidence in Asif Ali Zardari, mandating the Party co-chairman to negotiate future coalition government with other political parties. Newly elected Punjab assembly members of Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarian (PPPP) Saturday extended all cooperation to Mr Zardari, in case, he decides to enter into coalition with any party for the government formation.

The parliamentary party of PPPP Punjab met here at Zardari House under chairmanship of Asif Ali Zardari and reviewed the post-election situation including on-going exercises for a coalition government.

“We have authorized party co-chairman for deciding about the coalition with other parties including Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) to form a coalition government in the centre and the provinces,” a participant of the meeting confided to APP.

He said all the participants reposed confidence in the leadership of Asif Zardari and assured him to accept his decisions with an open heart as “we believe, he is doing all exercise in the best interest of the party and the nation.”

Meanwhile, the party sources confirmed that the participants unanimously nominated the Leader of the House in Punjab Assembly, however, the name was not disclosed.

“The name of all Leaders of House in National as well as Provincial Assemblies will be announced the same time after the party co-chairman completes consultation with Sindh and Balochistan chapters of PPPP,” sources added.

“The meeting was introductory where all of us briefed Party leadership of our constituencies including the party position and public expectations,” the sources said, adding, the co-chairman urged us for organizing party at grass roots and focus on reforms.
