According to a Yedioth Ahronoth report, there were no damages or injuries reported in the incident. But Israeli police bomb squad was called to the scene in Ashkelon, and is looking into the possibility that the rocket fired was a Katyusha, as sappers claim that the area is out of Qassam range.

A Qassam was launched at the area of Kibbutz Zikim south of Ashkelon Wednesday night, but caused no injuries or damage.

Meanwhile, Israeli troops backed by the air force killed at least four Palestinians including one civilian early Thursday in the southern Gaza Strip, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) was quoted as saying.

The operation came on the heels of a joint IDF operation that included both land and air forces, which killed seven Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip early Wednesday morning.
