Hinkel leaves for Celtic, Fernandes for Everton

Madrid : UEFA Cup holders Sevilla confirmed that Andreas Hinkel had left them to join Glasgow Celtic.

Hinkel has signed a contract until June 2011 with the Glasgow club. Sevilla have not stated how much Celtic have paid for the German international right-back.

Hinkel joined Sevilla in 2006 from Vfb Stuttgart, but has been understudy to Brazilian Daniel Alves, playing in just 13 Liga matches.

Also on Friday night, Valencia announced that midfielder Manuel Fernandes had been loaned to Premier League club Everton, where he played during the second half of last season.

Fernandes has failed to convince at Valencia and was high up on the “black list” of new coach Ronald Koeman.

Valencia became even keener to off load the Portuguese international after it was revealed by the Spanish media that he spent Wednesday night in a police cell, after being arrested on public disorder charges at a Valencia nightclub.
